Introduction and overview eHealth offers a potent means for health services in EMEA, and worldwide, to tackle the daunting challenges of the 21st century. Ageing populations, long-term management of chronic illnesses, escalating costs1, changing patterns of disease, and a worldwide shortage of healthcare workers are all driving the need for health information and communication technology (ICT) to improve healthcare administration and delivery. For future sustainability, the healthcare system demands efficient and affordable access to finite healthcare resources, improving care for all and reducing healthcare inequalities. To achieve its potential, eHealth must facilitate the secure movement of patient data out of system silos and transform it into intelligence for improved patient administration and enablement of patient-centred, coordinated care.

The more holistic view of risk a property underwriter can get, the better decisions they are likely to make. In order to build up a detailed picture of risk at an individual location, underwriters or agents at coverholders have, until now, had to request exposure analytics on single risks from their portfolio managers and brokers. Also, they had to gather supplementary risk data from a range of external resources, whether it is from Catastrophe Risk Evaluation and Standardizing Target Accumulations (CRESTA) zones to look-ups on Google Maps.

All-flash storage is on a strong growth trajectory, but the industry is not swooning naively over the blazing fast I/O speeds. Most IT managers are talking a mature, step-by-step approach to all-flash adoption. Falling per-gigabyte prices are making the technology more commonplace. Solid state drives are no longer just for specialized, high-performing tasks. Before they leap, however, storage professionals want to understand the full business picture as they formulate a winning strategy for putting all-flash storage to use for more workloads. This paper offers insights for business success with all-flash storage based on IT Central Station reviews. Real users weigh in on what it takes to get the most out of the technology. It covers such aspects of flash storage as the need for simplicity and the importance of flexibility. The paper also looks at how to build a business case for all-flash and think through the implications of issues such as integration with existing infrastructure.

By partnering with an end-to-end solution, merchants can increase approval rates and eliminate costly chargebacks and manual reviews. Those have been Riskified’s traditional benefits since we first struck out to change the eCommerce world in 2013. But in 2019, that’s simply not enough anymore. As eCommerce merchants continue to innovate, the expectations of American consumers have also risen. They expect a multitude of fulfillment options, and they demand that merchants provide them securely. For a business to stand out, offering an excellent product or service is not enough — it’s also about limiting confusion, limiting friction, providing reassurance, and creating the smoothest possible purchase journey every single time. It’s hard to do that alone. That’s what we’re here for.

In Economics 101, students learn about the concept of a ‘perfectly competitive market’. This is a marketplace with many buyers, multiple sellers, undifferentiated products, and easily accessible information about prices. While this model is supposed to produce optimal outcomes for consumers and society as a whole, the theory dictates that hyper-competition will push sellers’ margins closer and closer to zero.

Disruption to data availability has the ability to cripple an organisation, and in the consumer goods market, restricted access to data could cause goods to take longer to get to market. To prepare for data outages, it is imperative that businesses have effective backup and recovery solutions in place to minimise downtime and maintain functionality. This case study examines how PT Wings Surya, a leader in the Indonesian consumer goods market, was able to increase business uptime, cut the time taken to run backup jobs from 8 to just 2 hours, and reduce backup costs by 60%.

Think back just 5 years ago. In 2014… • The seminal DevOps book—Gene Kim’s The Phoenix Project—was one year old • Gartner predicted that 25% of Global 2000 enterprises would adopt DevOps to some extent by 20161 • "Continuous Testing” just started appearing in industry publications and conferences2 • Many of today’s popular test frameworks were brand new—or not yet released • The term “microservices” was just entering our lexicon • QC/UFT and ALM were still sold by HP (not even HPE yet) • Only 30% of enterprise software testing was performed fully “in house”3 • There was no GDPR restricting the use of production data for software testing • Packaged apps were typically updated on an annual or semi-annual basis and modern platforms like SAP S/4HANA and Salesforce Lightning hadn’t even been announced Times have changed—a lot. If the way that you’re testing hasn’t already transformed dramatically, it will soon. And the pace and scope of disruption will continue to escalate throughout the fo

Delivering personalized customer experience remains the top business challenge for communications service providers (CSPs). Ovum's recently published 2018 ICT Enterprise survey saw almost all CSP IT executives interviewed identify delivering personalized customer experience as one of their three most important business challenges for the next 18 months. This trend emphasizes the high priority CSPs place on how customer relationships are managed. However, several factors have an impact on CSPs' ability to identify and then deliver customers' core needs. These include understanding the data sets they should focus on; collecting, cleansing, and consolidating these data sets; and having the right expertise to mine the data sets.

If a retailer views “Buy Online, Pickup In-Store” as purely e-commerce, they’re losing. Each transaction in which customers pickup in-store is a chance to add value to the relationship. Whether that means speed, cross-selling, or a unique bit of customer service that amplifies the visit, BOPIS plays just as important a role as the rest of the brick-and-mortar experience. Some trips may not translate to additional purchases right then and there, but the way a retailer handles pickup can dictate how the customer feels about the brand. To get the most out of BOPIS, retailers should ask themselves a few important questions.
