Centralized and accurate network security management is more than a trend—it is quickly establishing itself as the only means of network survival. Old-school point solutions, where each solution served a single purpose at a particular point in the network, are quickly becoming unwieldy, if not impossible, to manage. Larger enterprises may have hundreds of point products throughout their network, and managing them effectively, efficiently, and securely can only be done through a centralized network security management solution. Look for eight key features in your network security management solution to ensure that your network not only survives but thrives.

In today’s ‘always on, always connected’ world where sensitive data is almost certain to be stored electronically, organizations can no longer afford to operate without some form of Endpoint Protection. The costs related to network downtime or stolen data resulting from malicious attacks significantly outweighs that of maintaining an up to date solution. Although the unified nature of Endpoint Protection has made extensive security functionality easier to manage, selecting the right products can be a difficult task. This whitepaper aims to explain how the core functionality of Enterprise Protection suites have developed, what to look for in a solution, and which technologies will need to be considered in the future. In today’s business environment, it is no longer a question of whether to invest in Endpoint Protection, but a question of which solution is right for your organization.

Traditional security solutions can’t keep up with new trends in user behavior. Turning to point products to address discrete challenges only serves to increase complexity and may inadvertently leave gaps in your security. Plus, you need to consider how you will secure users as your IT philosophy progresses from on-premise to the cloud. To effectively counter today’s evolving threat landscape, you need a tightly woven mesh of security that consolidates your view across all layers of protection and all deployment models. Read this white paper to learn how Trend Micro Smart Protection Complete can protect your users.

Developing for and in the cloud has never been more dependent on data. Flexibility, performance, security—your applications need a database architecture that matches the innovation of your ideas. Industry analyst Ovum explored how Azure Cosmos DB is positioned to be the flagship database of internet-based products and services, and concluded that Azure Cosmos DB “is the first to open up [cloud] architecture to data that is not restricted by any specific schema, and it is among the most flexible when it comes to specifying consistency.” From security and fraud detection to consumer and industrial IoT, to personalized e-commerce and social and gaming networks, to smart utilities and advanced analytics, Azure Cosmos DB is how Microsoft is structuring the database for the age of cloud. Flexera’s Software Vulnerability Research allows effective reduction of the attack surface for cybercriminals, providing access to verified vulnerability intelligence from Secunia Research covering all applications and systems across all platforms. It drives a prioritized remediation process by handling vulnerability workflows, tickets and alerts, and describes the steps to mitigate the risk of costly breaches. You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know It’s hard for enterprise security analysts to get reliable and trusted information about software vulnerabilities and then identify and filter that data for just the products that matter to their organization. Those challenges lead to wasted time and effort. Learn more.

According to experts at TrendLabs, spam now makes up close to 95% of all email and continues to grow. In the first three months of 2008 spam rates almost doubled over rates observed at the end of 2007 and TrendLabs predicts that average daily spam volumes will increase by 30 to 50 billion messages per day within the year.1 As spam continues to grow at dramatic rates, traditional on-premise email security products are failing to keep up. This limitation is one of the primary reasons that IDC predicts demand for hosted security solutions -also known as SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions-will grow by more than 30% annually through 2012.2 For context, the growth rate for hosted email security is projected to be more than eight times that of the traditional software email security market, and more than 60% faster than appliance-based email security solutions.

How did you choose your anti-malware solution? Did you put it through the same rigorous process as your other security solutions? Or, did you simply renew your current product licensing? Perhaps you went with something you had used at a previous job. Maybe you even went so far as to read a few product reviews and third-party test results or evaluations. But, did you test the anti-malware solution yourself? In this book, we explain how artificial intelligence (AI) can help your enterprise combat malware threats in a more preventative, proactive, and radically better way than legacy anti-malware products. We explain why you shouldn't just believe a vendor's marketing. Instead, you should test different solutions for yourself, just as you would with any other major security investment. Read more in this eBook.

The 21st century marks the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities for mass consumption. A staggering surge of machine learning has been applied for myriad of uses — from self-driving cars to curing cancer. AI and machine learning have only recently entered the world of cybersecurity, but it’s occurring just in time. According to Gartner Research, the total market for all security will surpass $100B in 2019. Companies are looking to spend on innovation to secure against cyberthreats. As a result, more tech startups today tout AI to secure funding; and more established vendors now claim to embed machine learning in their products. Yet, the hype around AI and machine learning — what they are and how they work — has created confusion in the marketplace. How do you make sense of the claims? Can you test for yourself to know the truth? Cylance leads the cybersecurity world of AI. The company spearheaded an innovation revolution by replacing legacy antivirus software with predictive, preventative solutions and services that protect the endpoint — and the organization. Cylance stops zero-day threats and the most sophisticated known and unknown attacks. Read more in this analytical white paper.

Fileless attacks surged in 2017, largely due to their ability to bypass traditional antivirus solutions. Last year was host to several fileless malware victories. OceanLotus Group infiltrated Asian corporations during Operation Cobalt Kitty, and conducted nearly six months of fileless operations before detection. Ransomware hall-of-famers Petya and WannaCry both implemented fileless techniques in their kill chains. Every major player in information security agrees that fileless attacks are difficult to stop, and the threats are growing worse. Abandoning files is a logical and tactical response to traditional AV solutions which have overcommitted to file-intensive and signature-based blacklists. What can security solutions offer when there are no infected files to detect? How will a blacklist stop an aggressor that only uses legitimate system resources? The security landscape is changing and the divide between traditional AV products and next-generation security solutions is growing wider by the day. Cylance® has built a reputation on security driven by artificial intelligence and provides a frontline defense against fileless malware. This document details how Cylance protects organizations.
